How do I edit a clip to make it lighter or darker?

Open your Splice project
On the timeline, tap on the clip you wish to edit: it will become blue
Tap on Adjust from the editing toolbar

Here you're welcome to adjust the Exposure, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness, Temp, Hue by moving the slider above the features.
